Founded in 2022, Breathe Easy Counseling and Consulting is a Baton Rouge–based private practice proudly serving individuals across Louisiana through both in-person and secure virtual sessions.
Our mission is to foster peace and self-acceptance—helping each person honor who they are and their journey exactly as it unfolds. We believe that every individual deserves a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
In addition to individual and group psychotherapy, we provide speaking engagements, workshops, and community programs designed to promote mental health awareness and emotional well-being. We have collaborated with high schools and community organizations in the Baton Rouge area to spread awareness, encourage open conversations, and equip individuals with tools for resilience.
At Breathe Easy Counseling and Consulting, we combine compassionate care with evidence-based practices to help clients build healthy coping strategies, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward greater well-being and fulfillment.

April Bell
April Bell is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), with additional credentials as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS III). She is the founder of Breathe Easy Counseling & Consulting and author of Moving Through Emotions, a journal designed to support emotional exploration through creative expression.
April provides individual and group counseling to pre-teens, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, and challenges with self-esteem. Her work is grounded in the belief that every person carries a story shaped by their experiences, relationships, and the world around them. She creates a safe, affirming space where clients can explore those stories, better understand the patterns beneath what they are experiencing, and develop practical tools to move forward.
Her professional background spans behavioral health, education, assistive technology, and rehabilitation. This experience allows April to bring a whole-person perspective to her work while recognizing that support does not always look the same for everyone. At the heart of her approach is a commitment to empathy, creativity, cultural awareness, and respect for each person’s lived experience.
Beyond therapy, April provides clinical supervision, consultation, speaking, and community-based programming. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, thrifting for unique finds, and finding creative ways to incorporate movement and wellness into everyday life.
